What is WES?

World Education Services (WES) is a private organization that many employers and universities recognize worldwide. WES collects documents, verifies their authenticity, and grades them to the United States educational system. The grading depends on the following:

• No of years (of formal education)
• Duration (of studies)
• University/College/School Ranking

WES creates an official report of its assessment of international student students and employees' educational credentials.

What is WES Evaluation?

WES Evaluation is an evaluation that converts your grades into acceptable grades in the USA and Canada. For instance, the USA offers grades on a scale of 0 to 4 with 0.1-point increments. 

WES ensures you enjoy the ideal grading scale that makes your educational qualification acceptable. It converts your CGPA or percentage form and grades it on a 4 -point scale.

Why Is WES Necessary?

·         A WES evaluation is important for Graduate or Ph.D. admissions, including job applicants in the USA or Canada.

What is the ECA (Educational Credential Assessment) Report?

An Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) verifies the country of education's certificate, diploma, or degree to ensure it is valid and similar to the Canadian grading system. 

For instance, Degree/Diploma or certification evaluation is referred to as Document by Document evaluation. On the other hand, the grading of courses in degree/diploma or certification is called Course by Course evaluation.

The Document by Document evaluation is used for immigration purposes.

Why do I need an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA)?

Degrees earned outside Canada are not accepted in the country, except if ECA validates them as per Canadian standards. With an ECA evaluation, you earn up to 150 on your comprehensive ranking score (CRS), depending upon your highest education.

Is ECA Required for Express Entry?

Yes.

You need ECA for Express Entry if you have completed your education outside Canada. With the support of ECA, creating your Express Entry profile becomes acceptable as you earn more CRS points.

The Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP)

The Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) is the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) program that administers the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS).

·         SEVP serves as a bridge for government organizations interested in information on international students.

·         SEVP manages schools, nonimmigrant students in the F and M visa classifications, and their dependents. 

·         SEVP and DoS use the SEVIS to track and monitor schools; exchange visitor programs; and F, M, and J nonimmigrants.

·         SEVP ensures that government agencies have essential data related to nonimmigrant students and exchange visitors to preserve national security. 

Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS)

SEVIS is an internet-based system for maintaining information on nonimmigrant students and exchange visitors in the United States. In addition, it tracks and monitors international students and exchange visitors. 

How to Pay the I-901 SEVIS Fee

Nigerians can pay their SEVIS fee with the Pay4Me App. In addition, to pay the I-901 SEVIS Fee, you can visit FMJfee.com to access the SEVIS Form I-901.

To pay the I-901 SEVIS fee, all prospective F and M students will need to provide their:

• Name, address, date of birth, and email address.
• Country of birth and country of citizenship.
• School Code as listed on the Form I-20 “Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant Student Status.”
• SEVIS Identification Number as listed on Form I-20.
