Fellowships offer unique opportunities for one-on-one hands-on field experience, really allowing the fellow to dive deep into the work they are doing. In exchange, you learn more by teaching and broadening your horizons. It also allows the fellow to sharpen their skills in a new environment and new setting while maximizing their impact. These are available and most recent fellowship opportunities for Nigerians

1. Hubert Humphrey Fellowships USA 

The Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program provides ten months of non-degree academic study and related professional experiences in the United States. Humphrey Fellows are selected based on their potential for leadership and their dedication to public service in either the public or the private sector and for experienced professionals interested in building up their skills through a mutual exchange of knowledge and understanding about issues of common concern in the U.S. and Fellows’ home countries.

Application Deadline: before 1 October 2020

Eligibility:  Selected Countries including Nigeria

Value: Payment of tuition and fees at the assigned host university, and a monthly allowance

2.  WomEng Fellowship South Africa 2020 for Women

Applications for WomEng Southern Africa Fellowship are now open! They help develop leadership, employability, innovative, and well-being skills needed by young graduates to succeed in the engineering industry and beyond.

Application Deadline: 31st July 2020

Eligibility: Applications are open to all engineering, technology, and built environment students that identify as women.

3.  Princeton Arts Fellowships 2021/2023 for International Early-Career Artist(e)s

Princeton Arts Fellowships, funded in part by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, will be awarded to artists whose achievements have been recognized as demonstrating extraordinary promise in any area of artistic practice and teaching.

Application Deadline: 15th September 2020

Eligible Countries: To all artists whose achievements have been recognized as demonstrating extraordinary promise in any area of artistic practice and teaching

Value of Award: $81,000 a year stipend

4.  Johnson & Johnson-AESA Research & Development (R&D) Fellowship Programme 2020 for African Researchers

The Johnson & Johnson-AESA R&D fellowship program is committed to building drug development capacity and networks in Africa to enable countries to address diseases with high medical needs, locally. In that spirit, Johnson & Johnson has set up an R&D Training Fellowship Programme for very talented, suitably qualified and experienced African doctors and scientists, to help close the R&D knowledge and experience gap that exists in many countries in Africa to be hosted by the AAS.
