Fellowships offer unique opportunities for one-on-one hands-on field experience, really allowing the fellow to dive deep into the work they are doing. In exchange, you learn more by teaching and broadening your horizons. It also allows the fellow to sharpen their skills in a new environment and new setting while maximizing their impact. These are available and the most recent fellowship opportunities for Nigerians.

1.  Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom

The University of Leeds Faculty of Medicine & Health has opened an application for a postdoctoral research fellowship at Leeds Institute of Rheumatic & Musculoskeletal Medicine (LIRMM) in the Section of Experimental Rheumatology.

2.  Applications call for TRACE Investigative Reporting Fellowship 2020

TRACE and Alfred Friendly share the belief in investigative journalism to hold the powerful accountable and strengthen democracies. TRACE sponsored its first Fellow in 2019, a reporter from Russia placed at The Wall Street Journal. In 2020, TRACE sponsored two fellowships for journalists dedicated to investigative reporting. TRACE, through its Foundation, supports projects that encourage greater commercial transparency.

Application deadline: 16 September 2020

Eligibility: Journalists from developing countries. The successful candidate will be 25-35 years old and have at least three years of experience as a journalist at a print, online, or broadcast media outlet.

Value: All costs of program-related international and domestic US travel, health insurance, and a monthly stipend for basic living expenses.

3. Trust International Masters Fellowships 2021 for Low and Middle-Income Countries

This scheme offers nationals of low and middle-income countries the opportunity to receive training at the Master’s degree level.

Eligibility:  Low and Middle-Income Countries

Application deadline: 1st September 2020

Value:  £120,000 including salary, studentship stipend, fees, and research expenses.
