European Scholarships Available for African Students

European universities have an unmatched reputation for academic excellence and high quality of education with a variety of courses available for students, it is also a perfect destination for over a million international students around the world. Scholarships are awarded based on different criteria, which often reflect the values of the founder of the award. These are a few of the most recent scholarships European scholarships;

1. Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarships for Students in Commonwealth Countries 2021

Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarships give talented students from any of the countries in the Commonwealth the opportunity to gain a degree while developing new skills, experience life in another country, and building their global networks. The following countries will be hosting the QECS award; Bangladesh, Eswatini, Ghana, The University of the West Indies, Kenya, Malaysia, Mauritius, Pakistan, Rwanda, and Tanzania.

Application Deadline: 18 January 2021

Eligible Countries: Commonwealth countries

Value: Fully-funded tuition fees,  Living expenses (stipend) for the duration of the award,  Return economy flight, One-off arrival allowance, and Research support grant (on request)

2.  2021 Chamber of Commerce International Awards at Uppsala University

The Uppsala University is offering a wonderful opportunity through its Swedish Chamber of Commerce international awards to high achieving students who are willing to undertake a degree program at the Institution. Uppsala University is an international research university located in Sweden. It enables you to gain foundation knowledge in a subject area that matches your professional and personal interests. Applicants must first apply for a Bachelor’s or Master’s program at Uppsala University. To apply for this scholarship, you need to submit an online application form during the scholarship application period. 

Application Deadline: February 1, 2021

Eligible Countries: International

Value of Award: Entire cost or part of tuition fees

Type: Bachelor’s and Master’s program 

3.   Holland Government Scholarships at Utrecht University 

The Holland Scholarship is financed by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture & Science, Dutch research universities, and universities of applied sciences. The scholarship is meant for international students from outside the European Economic Area (EEA = the EU countries, Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway) who wish to pursue a degree in Holland.

Application Deadline: 31st January 2021 (23:59 CET).

Eligible Countries: International

Value and Duration of Award: The scholarship amounts to € 5,000, € 10,000, or € 15,000. 

Type:  Masters

4. Erasmus Mundus Joint Degree Scholarships for Study in Europe

Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree (EMJMD), is a prestigious, integrated, international study program, jointly delivered by an international consortium of higher education institutions. This scholarship program is exclusively awarded to individuals who have been selected to attend one of the Erasmus Mundus Joint programs.

Application Deadline: Most consortia will require applications to be submitted between October and January, for courses starting the following academic year.

Eligible Countries: EU and Non-EU Countries

Value: partially Funded
